Who Else Is Doing It?
No, you will not be alone. It may feel that way sometimes, but there are 600 million vegetarians (ish) on this earth and that number is rapidly increasing!
Leonardo Da Vinci, Jane Goodall, Einstein and many other great thinkers were/are vegetarian and many athletes and celebs are full on vegan. Let’s start with the athletes because high profile athletes are setting the stage for eating plant-based while rocking and killing it as an athlete.
Athletes who are vegan: Patrik Baboumian, Diaz Twins, David Carter, Torre Washington, Carl Lewis, Mac Danzig, Brendan Brazier and so many more!!!
Celebrities who are vegan: Ellen DeGeneres, Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, Jon Stewart, Brad Pitt, Pamela Anderson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jason Mraz, Woody Harrelson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Carrie Underwood, Al Gore, Alicia Silverstone, Joaquin Phoenix, Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Casey Affleck, Moby, Sia, James Cameron, Wacka Flocka Flame, Natalie Portman, Ellen Page
Great thinkers who were vegetarian: Leonardo Di Vinci, Einstein, Thoreau
To be clear, this isn’t a diet. As healthy as it can be, it isn’t a diet, but much more a way of life and a way of helping animals and the earth. If you are eating white sugar and bread all day, it won’t be healthy, but if you follow some common sense nutritional guidelines, then it is by far the healthiest way of nourishing that I have ever experienced. Having said that, if you are attracted to Atkins, Paleo, or low carb, or if you are gluten free, for any reason, guess what? It can be done vegan!!! There are vegan paleo and vegan Atkins cook books and many body builders (see above) who are vegan choose low carb regimes that are rich in nutrients and high high protein. There are vegans who are soy free and vegans who are allergic to nuts.
